Euro at risk falls down at the minimum
The Confindustria requires the Bank of Albania to take action in order to maintain the balance between the euro and lekë.
The Confindustria Administrator states that a weak euro is a risk to the Albanian economy as it directly affects exports and domestic production of the Bank of Albania.
The Bank of Albania is unable to play the role it has.
“Who benefits from these actions such as the Bank of Albania’s lack of movement to protect the euro because, after all, it’s not just the euro, but the Albanian economy.
“It protects Albanian exports, protects local production and increases the competitive power of attracting domestic and foreign investment working for the local market,” said Buxhuku.
The Confindustria raises concerns also about the lack of transparency regarding this issue, while criticizing the Bank of Albania’s de-euroisation initiative.
In a three-year period, the Euro has depreciated by over 13% of its value against the Albanian currency, lekë. During August 2019 the Euro reached its lowest historical level against the Albanian currency in the last 12 years, exchanging one dollar for 120ALL.
