Novak Djokovic storms to Wimbledon final
NOVAK DJOKOVIC fought the crowd and Roberto Bautista Agut to make his way into another Wimbledon final.
The defending champion was unhappy with noise from spectators during some of the long rallies in a brilliant, tense third set.
The world No 1 then called for acclaim was he finally started to wear his dogged opponent down.
Djokovic started fast, taking the Spaniard’s serve at the first opportunity and generally making life uncomfortable for him.
Bautista Agut was under pressure on his serve in every game and he wilted in the eighth. The Serb hit one magnificent running backhand, charged the net to force another error and then produced a staggering service return that so startled his opponent that he sent a forehand sailing long.
Bautista Agut was playing much better, yet not brilliantly. He did not need to, though, and if anything threatened to add to his early break before having the chance to serve it out.
